Advocacy & Research

Providing menstrual education in schools is important for several reasons:

  1. It helps to break down the stigma and shame that can surround menstruation, promoting greater awareness and understanding of this natural bodily process.

  2. It ensures that young people have accurate information about menstrual hygiene and health, empowering them to make informed choices about their bodies and well-being.

  3. It can help to reduce the incidence of menstrual-related health issues and complications, such as infections, by promoting good hygiene practices.

  4. It can help to address period poverty by providing young people with information about how to access and use menstrual products, as well as resources for obtaining these products if they are unable to afford them.

If lawmakers are attempting to remove menstrual education from schools, there are a few steps that can be taken to combat this:

  1. Educate yourself and others about the benefits of menstrual education, and the potential harm of removing it from schools.

  2. Advocate for menstrual education and the importance of providing accurate, evidence-based information to young people.

  3. Contact your elected representatives and express your support for menstrual education and opposition to any efforts to remove it from schools.

  4. Work with local organizations and advocacy groups to raise awareness about the importance of menstrual education and mobilize support for its inclusion in school curricula.

  5. Partner with schools, educators, and health professionals to promote and support menstrual education in your community.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
